Cracked Screen on an MCD5, MWD5 or MWD5-V

All Coldbuster MCD5 & MWD5 & MWD5-V thermostats carry a three-year, supply only warranty from original date of purchase.

If your screen is not responsive to touch, it is likely to have a cracked screen.  The screen can be damaged by applying pressure to the screen during installation or from dropping the thermostat. Even a hairline crack that is barely visible is enough to damage the thermostat.

Thermostats with a cracked screen have incurred physical damage after the point of sale and are therefore not covered by the product warranty. Unfortunately, this will render the thermostat inoperable and a new one will need to be purchased.

Multiple warning stickers are placed on every box and a bright yellow instruction booklet, which all clearly state that caution must be used when installing and not to apply pressure to the screen.

Please ensure your electrician takes extra caution when installing the replacement, being sure to align the switch correctly and making sure not to apply pressure on the screen when installing.
