Cracked Screen on an MCD5, MWD5 or MWD5-V
All Coldbuster MCD5 & MWD5 & MWD5-V thermostats
carry a three-year, supply only warranty from original date of purchase.
If your screen is not responsive to touch, it is likely to
have a cracked screen. The screen can be damaged by
applying pressure to the screen during installation or from dropping the
thermostat. Even a hairline crack that is barely visible is enough to damage the
thermostat.
Thermostats with a cracked screen have incurred physical damage after the point of sale and are therefore not covered by the product warranty. Unfortunately, this will render the thermostat inoperable and a new
one will need to be purchased.
Multiple warning stickers are placed on every box and a bright
yellow instruction booklet, which all clearly state that caution must be used
when installing and not to apply pressure to the screen.
