Thermostat Warranty Procedure

Thermostat Warranty Procedure

All Coldbuster thermostats carry a three-year, supply only warranty from original date of purchase, subject to the terms and conditions which can be found at https://www.coldbuster.com.au/terms-and-conditions.

For us to process your warranty claim and provide you with our top-level support, we require you first to submit photos via the Coldbuster Support Portal clearly showing the thermostat and the screen.

Some common examples of damage during installation (only to be done by a licenced electrician) that are NOT covered by warranty include:

  1. The switch can be damaged if your licenced electrician has either incorrectly attached the faceplate with the switch in the ON (up position) on the backplate switch and OFF (down position) on the faceplate switch or it has been broken by mishandling.
  2. If your screen is not responsive to touch, it is most likely to be the result of a cracked screen. The screen can be damaged by applying pressure to the screen when installing or from dropping the thermostat. Even a hairline crack barely visible is enough to damage the thermostat
  3. Broken fitting clips from mishandling.

Warning stickers are positioned on every box and a bright yellow instruction booklet, which all clearly state that caution must be used when installing and not to apply pressure to the screen.

As the warranty does not include physical damage during installation, we must first assess the thermostat to determine the nature of the fault prior to accepting the warranty claim. Therefore, we ask you to please send the faulty thermostat to us, secured and wrapped in bubble wrap, as damage during transition will also void the warranty.

Upon receiving the thermostat, we will use our best efforts to assess your request and notify you of the result within a timely manner.

If it is deemed to be a warranty issue by the manufacturer, we will send you a new one and reimburse your shipping cost if you provide proof of your cost.

If not deemed to be a warranty issue, you may choose to purchase a new one or we can send the original back, at your cost.

To assist our customers to get their heating back up and running as quickly as possible Coldbuster offer an advance replacement service where you may wish to purchase a replacement thermostat before sending the faulty one back. Upon the receipt of the faulty unit we will assess the unit and, if it is covered by warranty, we will refund the cost of the new unit. We do however always remind customers that if the unit is found to have incurred physical damage, this will not be covered by warranty and no refund will be given.
